Annual report 2012

Projects and initiatives to consolidate the IT architecture

Key projects and innovations to introduce and upgrade IT solutions included:

  • The single invoice project: the single invoice for all services was upgraded to include all material elements of fixed, mobile and broadband services, and data that assist in understanding the invoice and make it more transparent, facilitate the faster resolution of complaints and provide advice to customers.
  • The Phoenix project: we standardised the calculation of all fixed services and significantly reduced the complexity and costs of providing support for fixed services. The transfer of solutions to the production environment is planned for the beginning of 2013.
  • Automated activation of fixed services: we successfully introduced the automated activation and deactivation of customers in default in TDM and IP exchanges, reduced the costs of activation, ensured a faster response time and thus significantly improved the user experience.
  • Work Force Management (WFM) project: in the scope of the project we integrated the information system with Telekom Slovenije’s other back-office information systems.
  • SAP consolidation project: we successfully completed the project to standardise the Company’s resource management (SAP ERP), customer management (SAP RM-CA) and credit risk management (SAP CMS).
  • WinCash project: we replaced the cash desk operations support system with the standardised WinCash product, which is used by the majority of European operators.
  • Project to update the support system for international and inter-operator traffic: we ensured a high level of support for wholesale requirements.
  • Project to modernise level IX of international exchanges: we ensured support for inter-operator operations and for the calculation for the new Dialogic exchange. Despite short deadlines, we succeeded in providing uninterrupted support for the processing of traffic, which is of great importance for international operations.
  • Changes to the business reporting system and the establishment of a system to manage the quality of data: we upgraded the processes of transforming data sources from operating systems into a form that is appropriate for business reporting.
  • Consolidation of the SOA/BPM environment: due to the shut-down of an SOA platform, we migrated applications, online services and processes to the target SOA environment, which in the long term will reduce costs and the complexity of service architecture management.
  • Information support for archive management and the consolidation of support for the Company’s front office.
